Enphase Energy Highlights Safety and Reliability of the IQ EV Charger 2 Across Europe
FREMONT, Calif., July 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENPH), a global energy technology company, today highlighted the safety and reliability of its IQ® EV Charger 2, now available across European markets. As home charging becomes increasingly important to EV owners, the IQ EV Charger 2 integrates robust thermal engineering, independent third-party certifications, and multi-layer built-in safety protections to deliver stable charging performance across Europe's diverse climate conditions.
A common pain point for mainstream EVSE products is thermal derating: chargers automatically cut power output when ambient temperatures rise, slowing charging during hot summer days or long-duration charging cycles. The IQ EV Charger 2 is optimized to minimize thermal power reduction, maintaining consistent charging power year-round without compromising safety.
The product supports a wide operating temperature window of -40°C to 55°C and works stably at altitudes up to 2,500 meters. Its outer housing adopts IP55 dustproof and splash-proof rating, matching the protection standard of mainstream portable Type 2 EVSE. The built-in intelligent chip enables real-time monitoring of voltage, current and temperature, with automatic power cut-off triggered by overvoltage, overcurrent, leakage and overheating faults. Compatible with European Type 2 standard electric vehicles, the charger supports scheduled off-peak charging to help users reduce household electricity costs.
Enphase stated that the European EV portable charger market maintains a 21% annual growth rate, driven by surging sales of compact pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. The company will expand Type 2 portable charger production capacity in Hungary to meet regional demand in Q3 2026.
