Market Data of China and the Globe Released in May 2026, statistics from the National Energy Administration reflect robust growth of charging infrastructure in China. The total number of charging guns nationwide reached 22.497 million, a year-on-year increase of 44.9%. Among them, public AC and DC charging guns stood at 4.951 million with a 25.9% year-on-year rise and an average power of 48.89kW per unit, while private wallbox charging guns hit 17.546 million, growing by 51.4% and emerging as the fastest-growing category in the sector. Industry insiders noted that more than 70% of electric vehicle users prefer DC fast and ultra-fast charging solutions, and liquid-cooled charging guns make up over 80% of equipment installed at newly-built public ultra-charging stations.

According to the March 2026 report from Analysys, Teldat, Star Charge and Didi Charging hold the top three positions in terms of public charging gun inventory. When measured by charging volume market share, Didi Charging takes the lead at 34.22%, followed by Teldat (10.06%) and Yunfast (9.54%). End users mainly pursue faster charging speeds, stable mobile APP operation and low failure rates of charging guns. From a global perspective, the market scale of portable AC charging guns is valued at USD 1.639 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 16.98% projected through 2033. North America accounts for roughly 19% of the global charging gun market. The region has adopted SAE J3400 (NACS) as a unified standard for both AC and DC charging, gradually phasing out the legacy CCS1 connector. The global electric vehicle fleet is expected to reach 96 million units by the end of 2026, driving a sharp surge in demand for high-current liquid-cooled charging guns worldwide.

Major automotive OEMs including Ford, GM, Hyundai and Toyota have equipped all new vehicles with factory-installed NACS charging ports, and public charging stations across the region are undergoing large-scale retrofits to deploy NACS charging guns. The latest generation of liquid-cooled NACS guns supports a rated voltage of 1000V, a maximum continuous current of 600A and peak ultra-charging power up to 500kW. Meanwhile, the market for conversion adapters is booming; Chinese manufacturers are mass-supplying CCS1-to-NACS conversion charging guns to meet retrofit demands.

Domestic manufacturers have achieved mass-production breakthroughs for GB/T DC liquid-cooled charging guns. Walnuclear's high-power GB/T liquid-cooled models support a maximum voltage of 1500V and current of 1000A, catering to charging needs of mining vehicles and heavy commercial EVs. Co-developed by China and Japan, the ChaoJi standard integrating GB/T and CHAdeMO 3.x technologies is steadily advancing. The unified connector targets specifications of 1500V and 600A with a peak charging power of 900kW, designed to serve both passenger cars and commercial vehicles with one compact interface. Cross-border travel between Hong Kong and mainland China has fueled strong demand for conversion accessories; liquid-cooled adapters bridging GB/T DC and CCS2 connectors support 600kW ultra-fast charging for Hong Kong electric vehicles traveling into the Chinese mainland.
